GREENSBORO, N.C. — This year WFMY News 2 turns 75!
So to celebrate, we're opening the News 2 vault.
On January 20, 1969, Richard Nixon was sworn in as president!
When we found that date in our film room, we found something even more cool!
We found the film showing Nixon campaigning in Greensboro earlier in 1968!
The way film worked our editors had to cut out the actual clips from the first time it aired in order to be able to show it another time.
So in this case, we used the original film from Nixon's October 15, 1968 visit, as we covered his inauguration day-- January 20, 1969!
