GREENSBORO, N.C. — As we celebrate WFMY News 2 turning 75 this year, we are opening the News 2 Vault.
On January 16, the Triad and the nation said goodbye to a Civil Rights Pioneer.
Franklin McCain, one of the Greensboro Four, died on January 9. On the 16th, his family, friends, community and surviving members gathered for a memorial service.
The service featured remarks from his sons and WFMY News 2's own Sandra Hughes.
McCain's funeral took place the following day in Charlotte.
