Vault Visit | Hulda Street homes demolished in 1972

On February 14, 1972, the Hulda Street homes were torn down. The area is now called Taylor Avenue in High Point.

HIGH POINT, N.C. — As WFMY News 2 turns 75 this year, we are opening the News 2 Vault. 

We're looking back at demolition day in one High Point neighborhood. 

On February 14, 1972, city crews began tearing down old and abandoned homes on Hulda Street. A place now called Taylor Avenue. 

Seven families were relocated to build new housing units on the same land.
