GREENSBORO, N.C. — WFMY News 2 turns 75 this year and we are celebrating by opening the News 2 Vault.
January 30, 2014, started as a sunny, beautiful winter day. By the end of the day, smoke clouds filled the air and four Greensboro firefighters were in the hospital.
A fire started when an auto body shop worker dropped a light onto leaking fuel. The flames engulfed the building and after firefighters arrived, the roof collapsed.
Four firefighters went to the hospital with one remaining hospitalized for almost three weeks.
