JULIAN, N.C. — WFMY News 2 turns 75 and to celebrate, we're opening the News 2 Vault.
Today is February 29 and we're flashing back to a leap year in 1968. We spoke with Clarence Capp from Julian, NC.
While he'd been living for 72 years, that day was his 17th birthday! He started what may have been the state's first leap-year club.
"I put a piece in the paper and asked for everybody to write me a card that was born on the 29th and I got a bunch of people who answered," Capp said.
The group met every year in June.
