GREENSBORO, N.C. — This year WFMY News 2 turned 75! So to celebrate, we're opening the WFMY News 2 vault.
December 4, 2007, was a historic moment in the city of Greensboro.
The city council was sworn in, and Yvonne Johnson became the first African American mayor of Greensboro.
People got on their feet to celebrate Johnson's new position.
Johnson had served on city council for 14 years, including six years as mayor pro-tem.
She led a council that included four new members.
She planned to focus on public safety and bringing new jobs and businesses to the city.
