July 26, 2007 was a somber day for many in the Triad and across the basketball world.
Wake Forest University Men's Basketball Coach Skip Prosser was found unresponsive in his office.
Emergency crews responded but doctors pronounced him dead at the hospital a few hours later.
Prosser took over at Wake Forest in 2001.
He was 126-68 in six seasons at Wake Forest.
He also led the Demon Deacons to the program's first No. 1 national ranking during the 2004-05 season.
While there, he coached future NBA stars Chris Paul and Josh Howard, and was the Atlantic Coast Conference Coach of the Year in 2003.
