CHARLESTON, S.C. — On June 18, 2015, people around the country were reeling after the tragedy.
The night before a man walked into a Charleston, South Carolina church for bible study. During the bible study, he opened fire, shooting and killing nine people.
Here in the Triad, local churches opened their doors to the community. They invited people in to pray for the Charleston victims, their families, their community, and the nation.
Dylann Roof was convicted of the shootings and sentenced to death. He's still on death row at a maximum-security prison in Indiana.
