The discount applied to clothes, school supplies, computers and sports equipment.
State leaders initially decided to help give consumers a break. But state leaders repealed the tax holiday in 2014. They said the state lost too much revenue on tax-free weekends.
20 states including South Carolina and Virginia still hold tax-free weekend.
