GREENSBORO, N.C. — This year WFMY News 2 turns 75! So to celebrate, we're opening the WFMY News 2 vault.
July 10, 1992, the Greensboro Coliseum was closed for renovations!
The coliseum closed in April as part of a major renovation project.
In July, WFMY News 2 spoke with the construction manager to get an update on the progress.
Changes included a new roof, new seats, and the addition of the Exhibition Hall.
The coliseum stayed closed until the December of ’92, when it re-opened for winter events.
It then closed again until renovations were complete in November 1993.
