On July 8, 1994, people in Grandfather Mountain started seeing more kilts...and hearing bagpipes!
It was time for the annual Grandfather Mountain Highland games.
The annual event brought people of Scottish descent from all over the country to Grandfather Mountain.
The weekend-long event gave people an opportunity to learn more about their Scottish heritage. It also included Scottish dancing, food, and athletic competitions.
