GREENSBORO, N.C. — WFMY News 2 is turning 75 and we are celebrating by opening the News 2 Vault.
February 4, 2012, was a day of tragedy.
That's the day Troy and Ladonna French were found shot to death inside their home.
Their daughter, Whitley, was home at the time and survived. It took investigators three years, but they arrested someone in the case.
Officials found DNA connecting Jose Alvarez to the murders. He's the brother of Whitley's then-boyfriend, now husband.
Alvarez pled guilty to the murders and is serving two consecutive life sentences in prison.
