On June 28, 1987, Dale Earnhardt experienced a first.
He held off a late run by Davey Allison to win the Miller American 400 Winston Cup NASCAR race. The win marked Earnhardt's 7th win of the season and his first at Michigan International Speedway.
He'd go on to win 76 cup races throughout his career.
