DURHAM, N.C. — This year WFMY News 2 turns 75! So to celebrate, we're opening the WFMY News 2 vault.
March 5, 2022 marked the end of an era at Duke University.
“I didn’t realize I'd be doing it for 42 years in a place that I loved.”
That was the last time Coach Mike Krzyzewski coached Duke Basketball in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
The fourth ranked Blue Devils hosted the unranked Tar Heels for the final game of that season.
The crowd was filled with former Blue Devils, celebrities, and Coach K's family.
They were all on hand for a goodbye ceremony after the game.
But the Tar Heels didn't get the memo they were supposed to lose.
Instead, the Tar Heels beat Duke 94 to 81.
