Vault Visit | Brunch Bill

People all over North Carolina were talking about brunch!

GREENSBORO, N.C. — This year WFMY News 2 turns 75!  So to celebrate, we're opening the WFMY News 2 vault.

On March 2, 2017 people all over North Carolina were talking about brunch!

That's because an Alamance County legislator filed a bill in the General Assembly that became known as the brunch bill.

Senate Bill 155 gave city and county governments the option of letting restaurants start selling alcohol at 10 a.m. on Sundays.

That was two hours earlier than the noon time previously allowed.

It also let local governments adjust the hours restaurants could serve alcohol earlier.

Governor Roy Cooper signed the bill into law in June 2017.
