Vault Visit: Looking back when strong storms rolled across North Carolina

In the Triad, the weather interrupted a street festival in downtown Greensboro in 2004.

NORTH CAROLINA, USA — This year, WFMY News 2 turns 75! To celebrate, we are opening the WFMY News 2 vault.

May 2, 2004, was a day people across North Carolina had their eyes on the skies.

Severe weather brought strong winds, rain, and even a tornado to our East. Here in the Triad, the weather interrupted a street festival in downtown Greensboro.

It also uprooted trees in Alamance County.

A tornado did touch down in Harnett County.

Thankfully, no one was seriously injured from any of these storms.
