GREENSBORO, N.C. — This year... WFMY News 2 turns 75! So to celebrate... We're opening the WFMY News 2 vault.
On August 25, 1995, WFMY's studios were hit by a ball of energy named Richard.
"Where's Lee? Lee is hiding from me. I hope that Lee is not wearing the same outfit I'm wearing."
That's right... Richard Simmons visited the Good Morning Show!
He was everywhere!
He visited with directors in the control room... And our very own Ed Matthews!
"It's Mister Weather! It's Mister Weather, he'll tell you if it's gonna rain or gonna snow! It's Mister Weather!"
Simmons was in the Triad as part of a tour, promoting two new videos.
Sadly, Simmons died on July 13th.
He was 76 years old.
