November 18, 1993, a flight attendant strike meant some travelers had to make new plans.
They picketed at Piedmont Triad International Airport and airports all around the country.
Their union said the walkout was due to pay and rule changes that would mean longer hours for less pay.
“A lot of people think we're there for service, but primarily we're there for safety. The FAA mandates that we are on board.”
The strike lasted five days. It was the airline industry's biggest walkout in five years.
