'Pale Pink Dragon' performance at the Greensboro Children's Theatre | Vault Visit

GREENSBORO, N.C. — This year, WFMY News 2 turns 75! So, to celebrate our diamond year, we're opening the WFMY News 2 vault.

On March 18, 1973, the Greensboro Children's Theatre was putting on their production of 'The Pale Pink Dragon'.

Our crews caught up with them a few days before to check out the star of the show.

Some of the actors' parents constructed the 10-foot dragon.

They made it out of chicken wire, styrofoam, and muslin.

Rain in the area created a few challenges because the paint wouldn't dry!

They bought in heaters so it could dry and be ready for show time.
