GREENSBORO, N.C. — This year... WFMY News 2 turned the big 75! So we're continuing the celebration... by opening the WFMY News 2 vault.
Sept. 7, 2018, was the start of something new in downtown Greensboro. 2018 was the first year of the North Carolina Folk Festival!
The organizers started it as a continuation of the National Folk Festival, which Greensboro successfully hosted for three years.
The North Carolina Folk Festival focused on music created or influenced by our state.
"It's a good cultural experience and a good way to learn and get to know other kinds of music. Have some good food, listen to some good music, just hang out and enjoy the weather."
This year's festival is happening right now! It continues through tomorrow in downtown Greensboro.
