Last week WFMY News 2 celebrated turning 75! So to celebrate, we're opening the News 2 vault.
Aug. 31 marked the end of the summer of 1975. That was the day before many city pools closed for the season.
So, our cameras found kids taking advantage of the sunny day to jump in and cool off.
The script we recovered with this film encouraged kids not to forget these fun summer times.
Instead it said to store them away until the leaves turn green again and the pools come alive with the noise of fun again next year.
We offer you the same advice this labor day weekend!
