DANVILLE, Va. — The long-awaited Caesars Virginia will officially open its doors to the public on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at noon, kicking off a day filled with celebrations and special appearances.

A Parade to Remember

The festivities will begin at 10:15 a.m. with a spectacular parade of race cars and supercars supplied by Virginia International Raceway, Kaizen Autosport, and Foreign Cars Italia. The route will wind through Danville, starting at the corner of Main and Craghead Streets and concluding at Caesars Virginia.

NBA Hall of Famer and five-time champion Dennis Rodman will serve as the parade’s master of ceremonies and later place the ceremonial first bet at the on-site Caesars Sportsbook.

Ribbon-Cutting and Evening Fireworks

At 11 a.m., Caesars Entertainment executives, Eastern Band of Cherokee Indian representatives, and local leaders will deliver remarks at the resort’s main entrance before doors officially open at noon. To cap off the day, a dazzling firework and drone display will illuminate the night sky at 8 p.m., with the historic "Three Sisters" smokestacks as the backdrop.

A Welcome with Impact

“We know that there is tremendous excitement for our grand opening, and we appreciate everyone’s patience with this short delay,” said Chris Albrecht, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Caesars Virginia. “The team has been working tirelessly to officially open Caesars Virginia, and we cannot wait to welcome guests.”

Since May 2023, the temporary Danville Casino, located in the resort's parking lot, has generated over $66 million in gaming taxes for the City of Danville and the Commonwealth of Virginia. Caesars Virginia represents a collaboration between Caesars Entertainment, EBCI Holdings, and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.

What to Expect at Caesars Virginia

As the newest resort in the region, Caesars Virginia promises luxury gaming, entertainment, and hospitality for visitors. Until the grand opening, guests can continue enjoying gaming at the temporary Danville Casino.
