WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — It's time for Kermit, Miss Piggy, and the whole Muppet gang to move to the big screen once again, but this time it's in the name of charity.
The RiverRun Film Festival is hosting its second annual "Can" Film Festival for the holidays. The Marketplace Cinemas in Winston-Salem will screen the holiday classic "The Muppet Christmas Carol" on Saturday, Dec. 16 at 3 p.m.
The price is even better. All you need is two non-perishable cans of food which will be donated to Samaritan Ministries to help feed those in need.
“RiverRun is thrilled to again partner with Samaritan Ministries for our second Holiday Can Film Festival! We’re delighted to be able to help stock their food pantry while offering a rare opportunity to see the holiday classic ‘The Muppet Christmas Carol’ on the big screen,” RiverRun Executive Director Rob Davis said. “Everyone loves the Muppets, and we look forward to this chance to bring out the whole family to enjoy such a fun film and do a great thing for Samaritan Ministries at the same time.”
The 1992 holiday film tells the story of Charles Dicken's classic "A Christmas Carol". Michael Caine plays the part of Ebenezer Scrooge and The Muppets fill the rest of the story.
You do, however, still need to get your tickets and they can be requested at RiverRunFilm.com
