GREENSBORO, N.C. — Taylor Leverett is a weekend anchor and multi-skilled journalist for WFMY News 2. She joined the team in Sep 2023.
Born and raised in Georgia, Taylor is heading back to her southern roots as she recently worked as an MMJ out in the Midwest in Nebraska.
Her passion for journalism began in the third grade when she wrote countless short stories for herself and her classroom.
Life would take her through various paths. As an Undergraduate, Taylor majored in Biology and minored in Spanish at Augusta University where she would obtain her Bachelor’s of Biology. More recently, she received her Master's of Photography at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco where she lived for two years before the pandemic turned everything upside down.
Taylor ultimately found her way back to her true passion--journalism.
During her time in Nebraska, Taylor was recognized by the 2023 Great Plains Journalism Awards as a finalist in the Best General Reporting Category for her story “Kearney Community Rallies for Birdhouses.”
She is excited to call North Carolina home and bring her love for storytelling to the Triad.
When she is not at her desk, Taylor loves binge-watching Netflix, cuddling with her 15-year-old Dachshund named Macho, or making a few TikToks.
