GREENSBORO, N.C. — Meet meteorologist Claire Fry, member of the WFMY News 2 Weather Team – the Triad’s most accurate source for your forecast.
Claire Fry grew up having a passion for weather and bringing a smile to others’ faces. At a young age, she witnessed a tornado form right before her eyes one summer in Lincolnton, NC. This event sparked a fascination for the weather that would stay with her through college where she graduated from North Carolina State University in 2021. Before coming to the Triad, Claire spent more than two-and-a-half years at WECT-TV in Wilmington, NC as a Broadcast Meteorologist.
When off-air, Claire is a fitness guru and spends each day focusing on challenging herself in the gym. She enjoys traveling as well - whether by plane or a quick drive to the mountains or beach for the weekend. If not in the gym: Claire is spending quality time with friends and family, has a book in hand, is journaling about her faith, or is outside with her German Shepherd Athena.
