GREENSBORO, N.C. — Lauren Coleman joined the WFMY News 2 Team in March 2021 as an anchor and multiskilled journalist.
Lauren is currently a weekday anchor on the Good Morning Show. Previously, she anchored the Four 2 Five and WFMY News 2 at 5 p.m.
Before moving to the Triad, Lauren worked at FOX13 Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee where she wore many hats. She was the 4:30 a.m. and midday news anchor and delivered traffic reports every 10 minutes on FOX13’s Good Morning Memphis.
Lauren also led the station’s Family Focus Franchise where she turned in weekly stories that highlighted positive people and organizations in the Mid-South.
Before joining the morning team, she was a nightside reporter.
Before moving to Memphis, Lauren was a multimedia journalist and weekend anchor at WDAM-TV in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Lauren graduated from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University in August 2015 with a Master of Science in Broadcast & Digital Journalism.
As a graduate student, Lauren had the opportunity to live in Washington, D.C., and work as a D.C. bureau reporter covering Capitol Hill for KARK-TV in Little Rock, Arkansas, and KNWA-TV in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
She is also a proud Wahoo! Lauren graduated from the University of Virginia in May 2014 with a double major in English and African American Studies.
Lauren is a proud and active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the National Association of Black Journalists.
She believes video journalism has the power to educate, spread awareness, and create positive change.
She hopes her job as an anchor and multiskilled journalist will help her to be a part of that change.
Born in Fort Bragg, Lauren grew up in an Army family and has lived in several states and overseas.
She is happy to be back in her birth state of North Carolina and looks forward to reporting stories in the Triad!
When not at work Lauren enjoys volunteering, cooking, hiking, and all things theatre!
