GREENSBORO, N.C. — A woman is dead after a crash in Greensboro Thursday, police say.
The crash happened around 4 p.m. on I-85 South near S. Elm-Eugene Street.
Erika McNeal, 37, was driving on I-85 South from S. Elm-Eugene Street while Amy Barber, 47, was driving behind her. Barber hit the back of McNeal's car resulting in McNeal driving off the road to the right.
Barber sustained minor injuries in the crash and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
McNeal was taken to the hospital where she later died from her injuries.
Barber was charged with failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision and misdemeanor death by vehicle.
This investigation is ongoing.
