GREENSBORO, N.C. — Hannah Jeffries started at WFMY on December 5, 2022. Hannah has deep Triad roots, for generations her family has lived in Eden, N.C.
She graduated from John Motley Morehead High School in 2015 and traded in the Piedmont for the coast.
She attended East Carolina University where she majored in Journalism and received a minor in Geography. Throughout her time in college, she interned at Pirate Radio Station, WNCT, and WITN in Greenville, N.C. and NBC News Channel in Charlotte, N.C.
Hannah walked across the stage and into the newsroom at WITN where she started out reporting on the weekends. Hannah progressed through the ranks quickly in Greenville, from weekend reporter to New Bern bureau chief, weekend sunrise anchor, and weekday morning anchor.
During her time in Eastern North Carolina, Hannah covered many breaking news stories including the plane that crashed into the Atlantic carrying eight people in Morehead City and the death of Andrew Brown Jr. in Elizabeth City.
Hannah is excited to be back home working for the station she grew up watching.
What’s your favorite thing to do in the Triad?
Hannah loves to float down the Dan River in the summer, she thinks it’s fun to sit in a tube and let the current do all the work. She also enjoys hiking Hanging Rock with her friends and family she says the views from the top are like no other.

Hannah can carry a tune in a bucket, she was the president of ECU’s a capella choir, the Magnolia Belles!
