GREENSBORO, N.C. -- A spring snowfall is moving in, and could be our latest snowfall in 15 years. The WFMY News 2 Weather Team expects a trace to 1" of snow for most of the Piedmont on Wednesday, with higher amounts in some areas. It will make for a few slick roads on the morning commute.
Temperatures will be near or above freezing throughout the event, and it will be very difficult for snow to accumulate as it falls through the morning. The best chance for snow to stick will be if it comes down at a moderate to heavy rate for a time. By mid morning, most of the area should plan on a trace to 1" of snow, mainly on grassy surfaces. Still, some slushy slick spots are possible on roadways where heavier snow falls which could make for a dicey morning commute for some.
This amount of snow is enough to be nervous for the morning commute today, but not enough to stock up on bread and milk.
