NAGS HEAD, N.C. — A body was pulled out of the ocean on Wednesday in Nags Head.
Nags Head Police say the body was an 18-year-old visitor from Columbus, Ohio. Officers were called to the Gull Street Public Beach Access a little before 3 p.m. for swimmers in distress.
According to Greenville CBS affiliate WNCT, two of the swimmers made it back to shore with one getting help from a lifeguard. The third swimmer was not seen at the time.
A Nags Head police officer found the third swimmer with a drone. Both rescued swimmers were taken to a local hospital to be checked out.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
