Not a Washout, But Storms Return This Weekend

Say it ain't so, storms coming back to the Piedmont Triad.

GREENSBORO, NC -- Mother Nature will keep us on our toes this weekend. Stormy weather returns, making it a bit difficult to plan outdoor activities with much confidence. Here's what we're tracking.

An area of low pressure moves into the Carolinas from Tennessee to get the weekend starts. Lower pressure makes it easier for showers and storms to pop-up. Unfortunately, it's notoriously hard to say exactly where and when these showers and storms will form; but we can say that they'll happen. For Saturday, plan on about a 50% chance of getting caught in a downpour or two throughout the day.

The same goes for Sunday. Occasional downpours and storms will be possible as our pesky area of low pressure sits and spins over the Carolinas.

If you're trying to get outside, make sure to check the radar and the weather before you leave the house. The WFMY News 2 Radar App is your best bet to stay ahead of the storms. Have a plan B, or at least be flexible with any outdoor activies.

Our relatively wet weather will stick around for Monday. After that, some drier air will start to move in for a few days.
