WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — One person died in a fire at a Winston-Salem home Sunday morning.
The Winston-Salem Fire Department says an elderly woman died and three people were taken to the hospital after a fire in the 2200 block of Flag Street. The single-family home had no working smoke detectors according to the fire department.
Crews were seen putting out the fire after 6 a.m.
The department said the fire started due to unattended cooking.
