A Rockingham County man with 21 prior sex offense convictions was arrested Wednesday after working as a magician under an alias.
Registered sex offender Kevin Pegram was using the alias 'Angelo Colletie' to work local kid-friendly events and kids' nights at Triad restaurants, according to the Guilford County Sheriff's Office.
Arrest warrants outline three events over the last three months where Pegram worked as a magician for children. Two of the events were kid's nights at Greensboro restaurants, and one was a charity event hosted by a local law office.
According to a Guilford County Sheriff's Deputy, Pegram had been performing for kids at different businesses around the Triad almost every Wednesday for roughly a year. The deputy said more charges are expected to be brought in other counties.
Pegram's prior convictions include second degree rape, indecent liberties with a child and sexual exploitation of a minor.
Pegram is being held at the Guilford County Jail. The investigation is still ongoing.
Pegram, 34, is classified as a 'Recidivist,' on the sex offender registry.
Pegram had his first appearance in court on Thursday. A judge raised his bond from $1 million to $3 million.
