GREENSBORO, N.C.-- Students at Erwin Montessori, Hampton and Peeler elementary schools will return to class at relocated schools on Monday, April 23.
The district made the announcement on Tuesday night.
An EF-2 tornado destroyed the schools Sunday night in Greensboro.
On Monday, an emergency school board meeting was held to make a decision about the schools. The district announced plans for relocating students and staff affected by the tornado.
Hampton Elementary students (297) will attend Reedy Fork Elementary.
Two of Hampton’s pre-k classes will relocate to McNair Elementary, the other to Gateway Education Center
Peeler Elementary students (291) will attend Bluford Elementary.
Erwin Montessori students (252) will attend Alamance Elementary.
The relocation is for the remainder of the 2017-2018 academic school year.
