Good Samaritans Killed While Helping Stranded Driver On Highway 29 In Thomasville

Investigators said Cedolia and White were helping a disabled motorist alongside of the road near East Cooksey Drive when they were hit and killed.

THOMASVILLE, N.C. – Two people were hit and killed while helping a stranded driver on US 29/70 in Thomasville.

Thomasville Police said a car driven by Dennis Gammons, 59, of Greensboro was traveling Sunday on US 29/70 toward High Point. Police said Gammons was traveling in the travel lane when he hit and killed David Cedolia, 73, of Thomasville and Britney White, 29, of High Point.

Investigators said Cedolia and White were helping a disabled motorist alongside of the road near East Cooksey Drive when they were hit and killed.

Police have not released any charges at this time against Gammons.
