WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Police are investigating a Winston-Salem shooting that has now claimed another life.
Winston-Salem Police said Fred Douglas Hawkins III, 26, is the second victim to die after a shooting Saturday night on Cody Drive in Winston-Salem.
Another man, Jalen Cockerham, 23, died Saturday from the shooting. Police said Cockerham's body was found in the street.
Investigators said four others were also shot but were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said a large crowd was in the area at the time of the shooting but no one has come forward with details.
At this time, no one is in custody. Both cases are being investigated as homicides.
