N.C. Highway Patrol looking for driver in Davidson County deadly hit-and-run

Authorities in North Carolina are asking for the public's help Monday to help find a driver believed to be involved in a deadly hit-and-run from August.

Investigators with the North Carolina Highway Patrol are asking for the public's help to find a driver believed to be involved in a deadly hit-and-run in Davidson County from Aug. 27.

According to a press release from Highway Patrol, investigators are still looking for help identifying a suspect who is believed to have hit and killed a bicyclist along Denton Road just north of Mt. Zion Church Road in the county there before driving off.

Based on information from a witness, authorities said they believe the crash happened in late August.

Thirty-eight-year-old Eric Christopher Dickerson of Thomasville was on the bike when he was hit, Highway Patrol said. he passed away at the scene.

Investigators said in the release that the vehicle that hit Dickerson might have been a 2004 GMC Sierra pickup, which was headed north on Denton Road about the same time as the crash.
