REIDSVILLE, N.C. -- A man has been sentenced for a murder that happened last year in Rockingham County.
Michael Ray Hutson was sentenced in Superior Court to 28-34 years for second degree murder, armed robbery, and two counts of habitual felon, police said in a release.
Police say Terry Wayne Hagwood, 61, was found dead in his home on Thomas Street on Tuesday, April 4, 2017.
Investigators say at first it looked like Hagwood had suffered some kind of trauma but the cause of death was unknown. They later determined Hagwood had been shot in the head three times.
Yesterday, Hutson pleaded guilty to the murder. During the sentencing, he declined to address the family of Hagwood.
