GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Greensboro is one step closer to landing a Publix Distribution Center.
On Thursday, the Guilford County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously for incentives to lure the grocery store chain to the Triad.
A site in East Greensboro is in the running.
Publix plans to open a distribution center, creating 1,000 jobs that pay an average of $42,000 a year.
Commissioners voted for the incentives, which would be 80-percent of property tax revenue.
Publix won't get the money, until the jobs are filled.
Just last month, the Greensboro City Council approved an incentives package worth about $20 million dollars.
Publix is expected to make a decision this summer.
